On Sunday, Dawn joined 3000 other runners and power-walkers in Bristol city centre to raise money for Sport Relief by taking part in the 'Bristol Mile' event. Dawn
raised £300 for charity by completing the Mile and the money will go to help vulnerable people at home in the United Kingdom and across the world. Over 200 Sport Releif events took place across the
country, with more than £20m raised so far.
Commenting after the event, Dawn said:
"This has been a lovely day with a serious message. Sport Relief does so much brilliant work here and abroad, and the event also shows that people don’t have to don lycra or get down the gym every day to stay fit and healthy.
It’s always nice to be able to support a charity, although I don’t think I’ve been sponsored for anything since I was at school! I’ve been asking colleagues in Bristol and the Department of Health to part with their cash – although I’ve only been asking most people for £1. It is only a mile after all!"
