Whitchurch Health Centre work hailed

MP welcomes investment in local health services

Dawn Primarolo, Labour MP for Bristol South, has welcomed the start of building work on Whitchurch's brand new primary care centre.

"It's really good to see Labour's record investment in the NHS having an impact in Bristol South", Dawn said. "With the plans for the South Bristol Hospital progressing well, and other health centres in line for similar investment, I believe we are poised to see some significant improvements in our local health services".

The centre, which is costing £4m to construct, will be nearly double the size of the existing building. Due to open towards the end of 2007, it will provide more consulting rooms, a pharmacy and offer a greater range of services in a more spaciou and modern environment.
