MP discusses situation in Iraq

MP meets local Mosque Committee

Dawn Primarolo, Labour MP for Bristol South, was today meeting Committee members of the Bristol Jamia Mosque in Totterdown to discuss the international situation surrounding Iraq.

Speaking after the meeting, Dawn Primarolo said:

"A few weeks ago, the Committee wrote a letter expressing their deep concern at the possibility of military action in Iraq. I took this letter very seriously, which is why I asked to meet the Committee in person".

"The Committee conveyed to me the Muslim community's strongly held desire to see a peaceful resolution to the situation in Iraq. I too share this desire".

"It was a very positive and helpful exchange. It's a dialogue that I welcome and hope to continue over the coming weeks and months".
