Ribbon-cutting at Bart Spices warehouse

Bart Spices Distribution CentreDawn Primarolo officially opens new premises for local business

Labour MP for Bristol South, Dawn Primarolo, has today cut the ribbon to open 32,000 sq ft of new warehouse space for successful local firm, Bart Spices.

The new distribution centre, located on Mead Street, will help Bart Spices to cut the number of road journeys across Bristol, as overflow warehousing was previously used in Brislington and Avonmouth. Additional jobs have also been created as a consequence of this expansion.

Speaking after the opening ceremony, Dawn said:

“Bart Spices is a splendid company and I’m glad it’s in my constituency. It leads the way in so many respects – whether it’s on promoting fair trade and organic products, taking steps to be environmentally responsible, or getting involved in community events like the Knowle West Food Festival. I am delighted it’s continuing to thrive here in Bristol South, and will carry on doing whatever I can to support its development”.

Established in Bristol during the 1960s, Bart Spices is a growing independent food company, supplying high quality food ingredients from around the globe.
