Blue Badge Holders & Residents Parking Schemes

The Mayor of Bristol has decided to implement 24 Residents Parking Zones (RPZs) across a large part Bristol and he is banning disabled blue badge holders from parking in permit only bays.

A blue badge is a lifeline to many to disabled people, however, the Mayor has said he needs to see evidence before he will reconsider this decision. So, as many blue badge holders as possible need share their experiences of parking, how they find it, the time it takes and the freedom the blue badge gives. Campaigners will let the mayor know what you’ve told them on the 11th July where they will press him to change these unfair restrictions on disabled people.

Please complete the attached survey if you are a blue badge holder and if you are not please let any blue badge holders you know about the campaign.

Also, please sign the online petition and join the facebook campaign page. Petition can be found here:-

I am not a blue badge holder , however my 2 Aunts, ( with cerebral pause, and spina bifida) are, I also looked after my late mum when she was old and disabled. It is essential if you believe that someone with a disability should any kind of life that we respect their right to park as close to amenities as possible. George Ferguson decision to ban them from any parking areas is outrageous and cruel.
