Dawn Primarolo MP visits Merchants Academy

Dawn Primarolo, Labour MP for Bristol South, visited the Merchants Academy in Withywood this morning to meet teachers and pupils and find out about the school’s current projects and future plans.  The school received a “Good” Ofsted report last year and its GCSE results have been improving year on year. During her visit Dawn met with members of the School Council to discuss the meaning of democracy and representation.

Commenting after the visit Dawn said

“I was very pleased to have the opportunity to visit the Merchants Academy today.  The school clearly has high expectations for its pupils and is proving to be very successful.  It’s great to see the young people working hard and keen to learn.”
