Dawn Supports Financial Education for Young People

Financial Education APPG

On Monday 31 January Dawn Primarolo, MP for Bristol South, attended the launch of the new All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Financial Education for Young People.

The event was hosted by Justin Tomlinson MP and the group is calling for compulsory financial education in schools to help ensure young people understand money, consuming and debt.  Martin Lewis, creator of, also attended the launch in support of the campaign.

Dawn has been contacted by several local residents about this matter in recent weeks who have expressed their concerns about the lack of financial education in schools, wishing they’d had some themselves.

Speaking after the event Dawn said, “It’s very important to ensure our children and young people receive some financial education to help them make informed financial decisions later in life.  I’m delighted to support this Parliamentary Group and hope its existence will help bring about the change we need.”
