Commenting on the findings of the Mayor’s Homes Commission, Dawn Primarolo, Labour MP for Bristol South, said:
“I was very interested to read the findings of the Mayor’s Homes Commission. I appreciate the work that has gone into compiling this report and agree with many of the recommendations but am surprised that the Mayor needed to establish a Commission to identify some of these potential solutions to the urgent need for more homes in our city.
For example, it is over 11 months since I met the Mayor and raised concerns about the number of sites across the city where planning permission for new homes has been granted yet building work has yet to start. The Mayor has had a long career in developing sites for housing – why hasn’t he used this experience to get Bristol building?”
