Dawn met this morning with Steve Lansdown, Chairman of Bristol City Football Club. They discussed a range of issues, particularly City’s plans for a new 30,000 seater stadium.
After the meeting, Dawn said:
“It was very useful to meet with Steve, to discuss Bristol City’s plans for the future. The club enjoys fantastic support in Bristol South, and plays an important role in the local community. As a city, we should be ambitious enough to want two teams competing at the highest level. The plans I have seen certainly show that the club wants to move forward.
Bristol City do, of course, have to make sure that they remain a good neighbour. That means they must pro-actively engage people who will be affected by a new stadium, and seek to take their views into account. I look forward to working with the club, and local residents, and wish City every success for the remainder of the season.”
