Dawn Primarolo launches hospital petition

'Let's go that bit further' says local MP

Bristol South MP, Dawn Primarolo, has launched a petition calling on the Strategic Health Authority to give extra support to plans for a South Bristol Community Hospital.

Speaking at the launch, Dawn said:

"My message to the Strategic Health Authority is quite simple. The plans for a Diagnostic & Treatment Centre are excellent, but with more than £40bn of extra Government investment committed to the NHS over the next few years, surely we can go that bit further and build the Community Hospital that South Bristol needs".

"The Strategic Health Authority has to weigh up competing demands from across Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, as well as the former Avon, so I've been busy having discussions and writing letters to support this idea. However, we need to pull together as a community if we are to convince them once and for all that South Bristol really does need a hospital".

"That's why I'm urging my constituents to support the campaign by signing the petition. Simply call my constituency office on 0117 909 0063 to find out how to add your name".
