Heat Heroes Award Scheme

Friday 10 February was Fuel Poverty Awareness Day and Labour MP for Bristol South, Dawn Primarolo, was delighted to mark the occasion by meeting local volunteer, June Baily, who had travelled to Westminster to collect a “Heat Heroes” award.  The award scheme, which is organised by fuel poverty charity NEA and ScottishPower, celebrates the contribution made by individuals who provide advice and support to people living in fuel poverty.

Dawn commented,

“I was very happy to attend the Heat Heroes Award Scheme reception and meet June who has been working hard to help those living in fuel poverty in Bristol South.  Over a number of years June has been providing advice to older people about how to keep warm and keep fuel bills down.  This support is extremely valuable and I’m delighted June’s efforts have been recognised in this way.”
