MPs' Allowances

Since 2004, the House of Commons has published a summary of allowances received by Members of Parliament.  These are available to view (with explanatory notes) on the House of Commons website by clicking here.

The Government has now proposed to take the published information further.  Set within tough new rules with clear, independent robust audit, all expenditure will be published in 26 categories and will be automatically available to members of the public.

Although my home is in Bristol South, my role as MP requires me to be in Westminster for several nights a week.  An Additional Cost Allowance is paid to reimburse MPs for necessary costs incurred when staying away from home for the purpose of performing parliamentary duties.  I have published information below with regard to this allowance in order that my constituents in Bristol South are fully aware of my expenditure.
