Dawn visits Victoria Park Primary School

Dawn Primarolo, Labour MP for Bristol South, visited Victoria Park Primary School to listen to children read and see the school’s Reading Recovery programme in action.  Dawn heard about how pupils have received one-to-one support to help improve their reading skills.

Speaking after the event Dawn said:

“It was lovely to meet the children and see them so excited about being able to read their favourite stories to me.  Reading is such an important skill for life and I believe all our children should be given the support they need to help them read confidently. I’m delighted that Victoria Park Primary and many other local schools are working hard to improve literacy levels.”
