Visit Parliament

Dawn is able to arrange tours of the Houses of Parliament and tickets to watch House of Commons proceedings live in the chamber, for individuals and schools in her constituency.

All tours and tickets are free, but can only be booked through your MP. If you are a resident of Bristol South, or a teacher at a Bristol South school, and you would be interested in arranging a visit to Parliament for yourself or your students, then please read the details provided below and get in touch with Dawn (contact details below).

  • Tour of the Palace of Westminster

Tours of Parliament last about 75 minutes and take in the chambers of the House of Commons and House of Lords, as well as some of the less well-known but historically rich areas of the Palace of Westminster. Outside of the summer recess, tours aren't available to the general public, except when booked through an MP or a Lord, and Dawn is happy to arrange a tour for any Bristol South resident that would like one.

Schools are welcome to be booked on a tour also - however, they may also like to consider booking through the Parliamentary Education Service, who can provide seminars and workshops for students about the workings of Parliament.

  • Clock Tower tour

If you want to try something really unique, you might want to try taking a tour of Parliament's Clock Tower, commonly known as Big Ben (though this actually refers to the bell in the Clock Tower!).

Small groups are able to take the 334-step climb up the famous Clock Tower and learn more about its history, as well as seeing how the landmark clock actually works.

  • Watch House of Commons proceedings live

With tickets to the public gallery visitors to Parliament can come and watch democracy in action by viewing the live proceedings of the House of Commons from the chamber itself.

Dawn only gets two tickets once every eleven sitting days, with an average of four sitting Wednesdays - the day of Prime Ministers Questions - a year, so tickets are extremely limited, but Dawn is able to place interested constituents on a waiting list.

If you are interested in visiting Parliament, please contact Dawn using the details below to let her know when you'd like to visit and what you'd like to do, and she will do what she can to arrange this.
