Visiting Victim Support

Dawn Primarolo, Labour MP for Bristol South, met staff and volunteers at Avon & Somerset Victim Support on a recent visit to their offices at Bishopsworth Police Station.  Dawn heard about the organisation’s current projects, including work around human trafficking, and future plans including where Victim Support may be based following the recent announcement that Bishopsworth Police Station is due to close.

During her visit Dawn met two volunteers who work closely with victims of crime to provide support and guidance.

Speaking after the visit Dawn said,

“I was very interested to hear about the ongoing work of Victim Support in Bristol South.  Their services are clearly highly valued by many people who have been victims of crime and I was especially interested to speak to the volunteers who told me about their experiences of supporting victims, which can be challenging but also very rewarding.”

Victim Support relies on volunteers to help deliver its much needed services and they are always looking for new people to help out. To find out more about volunteering for Victim Support, call 0800 840 4207 or visit
